Why MIMA?
History & Mission
25 years ago local marketing leaders were regularly getting together to share insights and bounce new ideas off of one another. They saw a need for this in Minneapolis and started what would become the first integrated marketing association in the country.
They put together a board of directors and all agreed upon the goal of the organization:
MIMA aims to bring digital communication professionals together through community events that provide insightful connection and first looks at innovative marketing movements.
We have been fulfilling the founder’s goals and further expanding on what the future of digital marketing could entail.

MIMA has been a supportive and crucial part of the advancement of digital literacy within our marketing community. They have done this by putting together awesome events open for the public and special member-specific panels. I am now CEO at my own social media agency after serving on the MIMA board for years, and I urge ALL young professionals to volunteer with the organization.

I volunteered with MIMA the summer after my junior year of college, and I am so grateful for the unique experience I received. Talking with my peers, no one else has been given as many opportunities to network or gain insights about the industry as I was able to get from the time at MIMA. I plan to attend MIMA events for the forseeable future as I grow into my career as a creative designer in Minneapolis.

I spent years of my early career dedicating my time to MIMA outside of my 9-5, and the time I spent networking and understanding more about the ever-changing industry the better I got at my day-to-day life. Now I teach full-time and the things I learned from going to MIMA events has helped me drastically when connecting with the younger generation and the technology they consume.
